Lim Jong-hoon and Shin Yu-bin beat Lin Yun-ju and Cheng I-ching 3–2 to win the China Smash mixed doubles title in Beijing on October 9. This was their second Grand Smash crown, following their US Smash win in July.[2]

They lost the opening game 12–14, won the second 11–9 and lost the third 16–18 to trail 1–2. The pair then fell 3–10 behind in the fourth game. They scored seven consecutive points to reach 10–10, and won the game 13–11. They then took the deciding game 11–8.[1][2]

In post-match comments reported by Sports Chosun, Lim said trusting Shin and playing to the end were key to the victory. Shin credited Lim with doing all the work and said she needed him to win.[1]
